Pumpkin Patch

We took a trip to the pumpkin patch today and had a great time. Here are some of the pictures from our day out. Carter ended up picking a pumpkin that we decided has the pumpkins pox's it is orange with green spots.

Our BABY is 7!!

Well Mallory turned 7 today. I am taking it pretty hard something about 7 doesn't sound like a baby anymore? I know I am silly, but I am a Mom what else can I say. So yesterday we had her birthday party with 13 little girls. Oh Wow how crazy am I? It was a lot of fun and infact I kinda enjoyed it. It was nice seeing/meeting all of Mallory's friends. We played a few games did a little craft opened presents and ate the birthday cake that Daddy baked and decorated I must say Clint is getting pretty good at baking cakes and I have one less chore to do for birthday parties a win win situation. She got way to many gifts and of course most of it was Hannah Montana stuff which if I haven't told you Mallory LOVES!! Grandma Shell sent her present via mail and it arrived Friday and Mallory rushed in the house to rip it open and to her delight grandma had come through and bought her Hannah Montana Clothes which got quit a reaction from Mallory (picture to follow). All in all she has had a great couple of days to mark her seventh birthday. She also got awarded Character Kid of the Month at school for self discipline on Friday she got a certificate at an assembly at school which clint,I and all the boys attended, then her Dad surprised her at school with a Birthday lunch and went with her to recess, we then ordered pizza, had her party on Sat. and then she got to pick breakfast, go to the pumpkin patch and pick supper today and she takes treats to her class tom.. WOW some birthday! She has gotten several cards all with money and to our surprise wants to put it in her bank account, maybe we aren't doing such a bad job parenting these kids after all? Anyway thanks to all of you that have called to wish a happy birthday and of course sent cards, money and gifts!!

Cavin's toe is GROSS!!

Last night Cavin knocked the blender out of the cabinet onto his big toe and oh wow the scream he let out was unreal!! It was purple and bleeding and gross and he just kept telling everyone the "icecream" did it. ya know cause that's how we make shakes in the blender. anyway here is a pic..

To me Carter looks like crap for it being 1 week after surgery. He is still needing to take his pain med on a regular basis which makes him act like a little devil. Fun times at the Meade house!!

Carters Surgery Update

Well we arrived at St.Francis this a.m. at 7 for a 9'oclock surgery which got bumped back to 10:05. It was a long boring yet funny morning. We have never been around the kids for that long after the "med cocktail". He was drunk to say the least, talking all funny he couldn't stand up, and seeing things that weren't there. He went in to surgery at 10:05 and around 10:55 they called us to talk with the doc. Everything went fine. They made us wait another 30mins before we could see him. Guess he swallowed alot of air while he was coming to and they had to call resp. therapy to give him a breathing treatment, but when they let me back he was still coughing and just mad at the world he wanted that IV out. They transfered us up the the 8th floor and we stayed there until discharge at 5pm. We had a few visitors Aunt Jamie and PaPa Don came to visit and brought Carter spiderman stuff which of course made his day!!!
We are home now and he is drinking and even ate a little pudding. I will keep you updated.
A big THANKS to Grandma Judy for staying with the kids and also to my friend Amy for getting Mallory to and from school and then staying with the kids and to Aunt Val for coming to the rescue and buying pizza for the little people!!

Little Boys checkups!

Well another lovely visit to the doctors office with to many kids in tow. By the time I leave there I need to visit the nearest liquor store:(
Maxton was in for his 4 month checkup and he is a huge 17lb2oz butterball he is 26'and doing great. He is perfect all over. Doc says nothing to worry about.
Cavin is 28lbs and doing just as well. Infact the doctor said he is talking at a three year old level and the rest of his motor skills are at about a 2.5 year old level. So great news for both! No complaints. And actually I left Carter at work with Clint as to not expose him to anything before his surgery on Wed. He had a great time with Daddy and his friend Jonathon who I hear was the main cause of Carter getting a little to Loud at times :) Way to go Jon!!

Carter is having surgery Wed.

Carter is having his tonsil's taken out Wed. at St.Francis is Topeka by his ENT Dr.Franklin. His tonsil's are huge and have been for along time. He snores like a grown man, so Dr.Franklin said lets get them out. We are not looking forward to the surgery or the recovery but it couldn't have come at a better time as the older kids are out of school and clint had taken next week off. Wish him luck and I will keep you all posted!

The Lodge

Well all the work on the "the lodge" is starting to pay off. It is almost done I know clint has been saying that for along time (believe me) but we are about 2 weekends out from having the carpet put in! The boys are thrilled with their room and I must admit I had my doubts about Clints theme but it is going to be a great Boys room!! I joke with Clint that after it is all done he will put a lock on the door and not let a single child in for fear that they will dent a wall or break a light fixture or that one day I will leave and come home to find our bed upstairs in "the lodge". I think he will go through withdrawl when this room is finally finshed. I know I am blessed because there is not to many husbands as handy as mine and that does such a "perfect" job!!! Can't wait for everyone to come over and check it out, but remember don't touch!!! Here are some pictures of the "wall" and the cool green paint color that took us 4 trips to walmart/home depot to pick out..

PJ's

Well what a slap in the face this morning when I told Carter to go get dressed he went up with PJ's on and came back down with a different pair of PJ's on thinking that he couldn't find clean clothes upstairs(okay little behind on putting laundry away, it's clean isn't that all that matters?) I found a outfit and began to take his 2nd set of PJ's off and he asks me "why do I have to put this on you wear your PJ's all day".. Do you think maybe it is time for me to start actually dressing myself in something other than pajama pants and tshirts?? My kids actually think this is how normal people go out into the world everyday..... in their pajama's.. Slap!!! Maybe I will have to work on this, maybe!!!
